Mr. Hobby Aqueous Hobby Color — Gloss Orange
Achieve a bright, striking, and beautifully vibrant finish with Mr. Hobby Aqueous Gloss Orange. Orange is an essential color for high-visibility rescue craft, civil vehicles, marine markings, and eye-catching details. Part of the world-class Aqueous Hobby Color line, this premium acrylic combines rich color density and a high-gloss shine with the safety and ease of a water-based formula.
Key Features:
-
Vibrant, High-Gloss Finish: Specially formulated to dry to a smooth, reflective gloss shine, making it perfect for safety markings, clean civilian vehicles, and vibrant details.
-
Safe and User-Friendly: The water-based acrylic resin formula is low-odor and comfortable to use indoors. It is the ideal choice for hobbyists painting in home environments or those who prefer working without the harsh smells of solvent-based paints.
-
Superior Self-Leveling: Formulated to settle evenly across the surface, this paint minimizes brush marks and ensures a clean, glass-smooth finish, resulting in a sleek, professional coat.
-
Perfect for Decals & Washing: Because it dries to a slick, glossy finish, you can apply decals and pin-washes directly over the paint without needing to spray an intermediate gloss clear coat first.
Application Guide:
-
Hand Brushing: Stir thoroughly before use with a paint stirrer to ensure the rich orange pigments are fully mixed. Apply in thin, consistent layers. If the paint feels too thick, a small amount of Aqueous Thinner will improve flow.
-
Airbrushing: Thin at a ratio of roughly 1:1 to 1:1.5 (Paint to Thinner). Using Aqueous Thinner is highly recommended to achieve the smoothest atomization and a brilliant, glassy shine.
Pro-Tips for a Perfect Gloss Orange Finish:
The Power of the Undercoat: Like many bright colors, orange pigment is naturally semi-translucent. For the absolute brightest, most vibrant gloss orange, always apply this paint over a cured coat of Gloss White or a very light, smooth primer.
Build Up Wet Coats: To get the best gloss reflection when airbrushing, start with a light mist coat, followed by a slightly heavier "wet" coat. Just be careful not to spray too heavy to avoid runs or pools.
Cleanup: Clean your tools with water or specialized acrylic cleaner immediately after use. For dried paint in your airbrush, a dedicated hobby tool cleaner is recommended.
